PRESERVATION OF THE TUZ N LAKE FOR FISH-BREEDING

Abstract

<p>Abandoning the Aydar - Arnasay system of lakes to its fate, the current reservoir will share the fate of the Aral Sea within a short time and be lled with salt. As the level of water owing into Aydar-Arnasay Lake System (AALS) has lowered, the mineralization of the lake is going to increase. e growing level of the air pollution is expected to lead increasing of mineralization and decreasing of amount of water in the lake. Mineralization of the AALS&rsquo; waters continues to increase, which in turn reduces the development of sh breeding in the lake. Until it&#39;s too late, it is necessary to develop measures for the reconstruction and enrichment of the biota of the reservoir aimed for improving the reservoir and increasing its bio-productivity. One of the options to regulate the hydro chemical level in some of AALS parts can be construction of a dam between the Tuzkan and Aydar lakes. ere is a natural but currently submerged cape there. Using a hydro-mechanical model some calculations of the amounts of mineralization of the Tuzkan Lake were made in the case of the assumption of a hypothetical dam. Findings indicate that solidi cation and mineralization levels can be broadly regulated in this way.</p>
