<p>Today our republic experiences a need for creating high-quality, cheap sorts and hybrids of cucumbers that are resistant to local climatic conditions. e development of prime seed farming, as well as providingpeople and farms with seeds and increasing the export of products are the topical issues to deal with. e article describes the characteristics of the sorts of cucumbers adapted for cultivation in the open elds, including for the one called ‘Sevinch’. e study reveals the advantages, productivity and quality of the crop of a new variety, which also highlights the need for creating local sorts and hybrids for open and protected lands. e methods of selection work, morphological, biological and economic characteristics of zoned varieties and hybrids of cucumbers developed in the Tashkent State University have been presented.</p>
