Abstract

This article examines the mechanical properties of yarn spun from cotton fibers using various methods for the production of woven fabrics. During yarn production, the quality of the finished product depends primarily on the properties of the raw material - the fibers that make up the yarn. These properties also depend on the yarn production method, equipment, and its settings. The study examined samples of single cotton yarn spun using pneumatic and air-jet methods, produced by Mirzachul Teks LLC, Pakhtakor Teks LLC in the Jizzakh region, and Navbahor Teks LLC in the Navoi region. A comparative analysis was conducted of the average tensile strength, specific tensile strength, and relative elongation at break of the samples depending on the spinning method and linear density. Since the coefficient of variation of the observed properties in the studies was less than 10%, the spread of the studied properties (the ratio of the squared deviation to the mean) is considered small. The specific tensile strength of cotton yarn with a linear density 1.5 times higher, produced by the same spinning method, was 7.5% higher. Among yarns with the same linear density but different spinning methods, the specific tensile strength of a single 29.5 teks cotton yarn produced by the pneumatic method was 14.5% higher than the specific tensile strength of a single 29.5 teks cotton yarn produced by the air-jet method
