<p>The paper discusses the approaches to constructing a model of a nationwide territorial sampling based on information technology, in particular, using cognitive graphics methods which improves the selection process of territorial units, visual grouping of districts by population, types of geographical zones, etc. The article describes the examples of working with specialized software designed to solve some of the applied problems of forming the office part of the sample and methods of using ready-made solutions in standard applications that can, by visualization, turn the data set into information suitable for further processing in order to generate new knowledge. </p>
