<p>The review presents an analysis of research in the eld of dermatoglyphics to establish the role of heredity in the manifestation of comb pa erns. It was shown that dermatoglyphic pa erns, which are o en used in forensic analysis, are being valuable in the diagnosis of many diseases associated with chromosomal or genetic disorders. Recent achievements in the eld of the human genome study, the search for the connection of dermatoglyphic indicators with genetic parameters, in particular, with the polymorphism of speci c genes, becomes relevant. Although these studies are still at their early stages, judging by the singularity of the published works, the positive relationships found in them are encouraging in terms of creating screening methods based on dermatoglyphics to identify a complex of genetic polymorphisms associated with both the development of diseases and achievements in sports.
