<p>Nowadays, innovations as well as scienti c and technological advancement are one of the main factors of economic growth. In the time of transition to innovation economy, the dynamics of economic advancement, wellbeing of population, national security of the republic and equitable integration with global economy are mainly determined by the ability of a country to make e ective practical use of scienti c and technological achievements. Accordingly, our republic has adopted a Strategy of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan for 2019−2021. e article discusses the innovative development trends in the Republic of Uzbekistan, reasons and factors preventing development of the innovative economic sector. Moreover, it provides recommendations based on the global experience.</p>
