CLASSIFICATION OF THE EARTH CRUST OF UZBEKISTAN ACCORDING TO GEOLOGICAL - GEOPHYSICAL DATA

Abstract

<p>The purpose of the article is to create a tectonic basis in the form of a classification of&nbsp;<br /> the earth crust in Uzbekistan based on a complex of geological and geophysical data characterizing&nbsp;its contemporary structure and condition. The classification of the earth crust into homogeneous&nbsp;areas opens up broad opportunities in the study of endogenous processes and geodynamics. It&nbsp;is essential to establish connections between the types of layers and determine their place in the&nbsp;general system. If the determined types of the crust are selected as to reflect different endogenous&nbsp;conditions, this will enable us to judge of the current structure of the crust as well as of the&nbsp;patterns of its development. The classification technique is based on a cluster analysis (solving&nbsp;a classification problem), which allows comprehensive and simultaneous processing of a huge&nbsp;amount of information. The article is devoted to the selection of a complex of initial geological&nbsp;&ndash; geophysical information for classification of the earth crust. Statistical and correlation&nbsp;investigations of the initial data are underway, typification issues will be addressed based on the&nbsp;cluster analysis. The typification outcomes are under discussion.</p>
