EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE FLOW PROPERTIES OF AN INDUSTRIAL SUSPENSION UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A VISCOSITY-INCREASING REAGENT

Abstract

<p>This study is devoted to the investigation of the flow and rheological properties of industrial slurry under the influence of a special viscosity-enhancing reagent. The object of the research is an industrial suspension obtained from industrial waste, while the main objective is to determine the effect of water content and reagent dosage on slurry flow characteristics and to identify their optimal values. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to improve the efficiency of slurry transportation in hydrotransport systems, reduce energy consumption, and enhance process control. Experimental methods were employed, in which slurry flowability was evaluated based on the spreading radius measured using a truncated conical vessel. The experimental data were statistically processed, and the relationships between flowability, concentration, and reagent dosage were modeled using natural cubic spline interpolation. As a result, a continuous smooth mathematical model was obtained, enabling the prediction of flowability for intermediate parameter values. The findings of this study can be applied to the control of the rheological properties of industrial suspensions, improving hydrotransport efficiency, and optimizing industrial waste processing technologies, which makes the results significant for engineering practice and applied research.
