Abstract

The Uzbek Braille Identifier System (OBI), which will help visually impaired and blind people to independently read and understand texts with the help of artificial intelligence, is being developed in the republic. Braille is the primary means of written communication for the visually impaired, but users who are not proficient in Braille may have difficulty understanding it. OBI aims to fill this gap by translating braille into a more readable form for nonbraille users. The OBI system specifically targets punctuation recognition in braille documents and is part of the broader field of optical braille recognition (OBR), which is still new and requires significant research. The goal of OBI is to improve written communication for the visually impaired in Uzbekistan.
