ANALYSIS OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD AND THE MAGNITUDE OF THE VERTICAL MOVEMENT OF THE EARTH IN THE AREA OF CROSSING KARJANTAU AND TAVAKSAY FAULTS

Abstract

<p>&nbsp;Certain studies were conducted in our republic on observations of electromagnetic fields,&nbsp;<br /> modernization of the predictive monitoring system, and high-precision data &nbsp;before strong earthquakes. Programs&nbsp;for continuous monitoring of the seismicity of territories are being implemented. The study analyses the&nbsp;geomagnetic field and vertical movement of the earth&#39;s surface in the zone of intersection of the deep Karzhantau&nbsp;and Tavaksay faults. The results of tacheometric measurements carried out in 2019 at the Tavaksay geodynamic&nbsp;polygon, the results of leveling works that were carried out in 1979, and their comparative &nbsp;analysis are presented.&nbsp;Due to the high accuracy of the applied magnetic survey technique, magnetic anomalies associated with geological&nbsp;structures, discontinuities, etc. were revealed. The applied high-precision total station survey showed a 37-year&nbsp;difference in the vertical movements of points on the territory of the Tavaksay micro-polygon, where the regional&nbsp;Karzhantau and Tavaksay Faults intersect. When processing the data obtained, it was determined that the points&nbsp;&quot;Farm&quot; and &quot;Cemetery&quot; are considered the most mobile points which are located in the Karzhantau fault zone.&nbsp;</p>
