The article consistently examines the concept of a researcher’s digital scientific identifier, the role of persistent identifiers in scientific evaluation and governance, the integration of ORCID into scholarly processes, and its interconnection with the paradigm of open science. Furthermore, the practical and strategic significance of ORCID in the context of developing scientific systems is assessed from the author’s perspective. The ideas advanced in the academic literature are analyzed and supported with scientific conclusions.
