This study analyzes the effect of the impact force of the weft mechanism on warp tension and the factors leading to warp breaks in looms. The purpose of the study is to develop a spring-loaded weft mechanism that reduces warp breaks and improves fabric quality by reducing the impact force. The problem is that, in existing weft mechanisms, sharp changes in tension and an increase in warp breaks occur as a result of the direct transmission of impact force to the warp. The study used theoretical force analysis, structural calculations, and experimental testing methods. The experimental results showed that, when a spring mechanism is used, a certain portion of the force generated by the impact is absorbed by the elastic element. As a result, the number of warp yarn breaks decreased by 22%, and the quality of the finished fabric improved by 18%. The tension of the warp yarns ensured a more stable weaving process due to a decrease in the amplitude of warp yarn oscillations. The results obtained are of practical importance for textile enterprises producing natural silk fabrics, and the proposed mechanism can be implemented by making structural modifications to existing looms. The results show that the spring-loaded mechanism improves the working conditions of the loom by reducing the impact force and enhancing the quality indicators of the fabric.
