This article presents a solution for improving the power supply devices of track circuits used at railway stations of Uzbekistan Railways. Track circuits are one of the primary means of control for ensuring train traffic safety in railway transport. In particular, phase-sensitive track circuits (PSTC) are widely used due to their high signal transmission stability and resistance to electromagnetic interference. The reliability of these systems largely depends on the control of the correct phase sequence of the power supply, which has traditionally been
implemented using phase control units of the FU-2-2 type. However, the physical and moral obsolescence of these units, the discontinuation of their electronic components, and the limited possibilities for repair create serious challenges during operation. A review of the existing scientific literature has revealed that systematic research on the modernization of phase control units in phase-sensitive railway track circuits remains insufficient, representing a clear scientific gap addressed by this study. In this study, an alternative relay-based circuit is proposed, which fully performs the functional tasks of the FU-2-2 unit, based on the DSSh-13 inductive phase-sensitive relay and the ASh2-1440 neutral operating relay, widely used in railway signaling, centralization, and interlocking (SCB) systems. The research involved an analysis of the operating principle of the new circuit through electromagnetic theory; a mathematical model of the circuit was developed in
terms of phase coincidence and phase opposition conditions, and the stability of the circuit in terms of functionality was analyzed. Laboratory testing results demonstrated that the proposed circuit achieved a correct operation rate of 98.5% under phase coincidence conditions and a 0% false operation rate under phase opposition conditions, confirming its significant reliability advantage over the FU-2-2 unit. The findings indicate that the suggested relay architecture not only fully replicates the functions of the FU-2-2 unit but also offers significant advantages in terms of reliability, maintainability, and diagnostic convenience. This solution will enable railway automation systems to not only reduce operational costs but also improve the overall safety level of signaling systems.
